Ensure your laptop or mobile device WI-FI is turned on. Within the campus, your device should detect a wireless network with the SSID (name) ‘KyU WIRELESS’. CLICK CONNECT and use the password provided by ICT department (password may be displayed at different points in the campus).
Signal strength vary depending on your location within the campus.
Kirinyaga University (KyU) is located approximately 115 Km North East of Nairobi on Sagana - Embu - Highway. It is the successor to Kirinyaga University College. Here is a map, tap on directions to get directions to our main campus
Unit registration is done from the student's portal which can be accessed from Here
Once logged into the student's portal, navigate to the Academics tab and the select units you wish to register. After selection and submission, the selected units will be populated under selected units for confirmation. At this point, you can remove an erroniously selected unit or otherwise submit the units to the sytem.
For a KyU student to use the library, they need to come with their student ID. In a case where you don’t have one you can come with your national ID and admission letter, until the student ID is provided to you. The only service you cannot access without your student ID is borrowing of library materials.

Admission of candidates to the University for the degrees, diplomas, certificates or other awards shall be open to all persons without discrimination on race, ethnicity, place of origin, political opinion, color, creed, physical ability or gender.
The application forms are available from the website and are returned upon Payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs 1,500 for Degree courses and Kshs 1,000 for Diploma and Certificate courses. Application fee can be deposited in the University account:
